Two short-term rental units are being prepared inside The Echelon. Each will reflect the atmosphere, craftsmanship, and character of the building — a deliberate alternative to standard hotel and Airbnb accommodations in northern Illinois.
The Echelon was built in 1908 as a bank. Both original vaults remain intact and in use today. The building has been in continuous use for over a century — and its most distinctive features have never left.
Staying here means sleeping inside a piece of Rochelle's history. The architecture, the atmosphere, the texture of the place — none of it was designed to be a hotel. That is the point.
Rochelle sits at the intersection of I-88 and I-39 — a logical stop for travelers, contractors, and visitors to northern Illinois. The area around Dixon, Rockford, and DeKalb has options. Few of them look like this.
